ANOTHER UNSUCCESSFUL attempt TO keep IT awesome

Alert: regardless of the truth that I state Pinterest ten million times (drinking game, anyone?) this wasn’t paid or perked by them or anyone else. We’re just eye-candy consumed gals who like a great pin-fest. sometimes while eating Oreos.

You guys understand my Pinterest addiction runs deep from this heartfelt publish of yore. So when Katie called me to state that she believed we should difficulty ourselves to make one thing each season that’s influenced by all the fantastic stuff that we’ve pinned over there (and phone call it… wait on it… The Pinterest Challenge) I believed it sounded like fun. It’s a welcome slap of stop-pinning-and-start-doing. since I’ve pinned 738 things. as well as I’ve done four (this one, this one, this one, as well as this one). Well five if you count this haircut – however I outsourced that.

Look, Katie even whipped up a spiffy bit graphic:

Oh as well as since Katie as well as I geek out whenever we’re together (even just virtually for a bit self-issued challenge) we got more than a bit goofy as well as decided to make this video to explain the whole concept of the challenge. as well as there’s a quite interesting cameo in it (and I’m not speaking ’bout Burger- although he does try to take the show). So don’t scroll down before watching the video unless you’re a fun-hater as well as you wanna ruin the surprise (or you’re at work so you can’t watch videos – well I would still watch it on silent before scrolling, however that’s just me):

Ah outtakes. They’re my preferred thing ever. I’m working on a theory that outtakes are the window to the soul. My soul’s obviously a overall nerd, however hey, nerd is the new jock. Anyway, I told you Katiekins as well as I go crazy when we team up, so you were adequately warned. Or perhaps it’s just the camera that makes it impossible for me to act typical (as demonstrated here). That’s one more theory I’m working on. Camera-induced-insanity.

But back to my Pinterest project. John as well as I were brainstorming a chandelier or hanging pendant light for the laundry space as well as came up with the concept of utilizing a mega-amount of clothespins to produce some kind of shade. as well as what do you know, when we searched Pinterest to see if anyone else has dealt with something similar, the perfect pinspiration (har-har) popped up in the type of this job (originally from here) and this job (originally from here). What are the odds? Not one however two clothespin light fixtures to utilize as a jumping off point. Oh happy day.

So far we’ve installed a $5 light set from Ikea…

… as well as have chosen up these materials for the shade part of the pendant:

We’re definitely going to put our spin on things (so it may end up appearing like kind of a hybrid between the two fantastic fixtures above) however we’ll just have to see where we end up. I understand I’m weird, however sitting on the floor playing with different clothespin patterns seems like a great time to me.

Oh as well as did you catch the part in the video where we invited you to partake in the difficulty together with us? First, here’s the “us” breakdown:

Lana from Making a home A Home

So here’s the part where I prolong my arm with a warm smile as well as a wobbly curtsey as well as humbly invite you to join in as well as do your own spin on something you pin. You know, if you’re into that kind if thing. We figured we’d provide everybody (and ourselves) the weekend to work on stuff as well as reconvene next Tuesday morning (the 2nd) to share our projects. We were hoping this thang (yes, I got twangy on you) might turn into a fun bit innovative par-tay for anyone else who wishes to get in on the fun, so just decrease in next Tuesday to see what we’ve done – as well as submit links to stuff that you’ve done so we can see what you’ve been up to. perhaps we’ll even pin it. as well as so the vicious cycle continues…

Psst- We’re speaking about exactly how picture albums are dead to us over on BabyCenter today. inspect it out as well as tell us what you do with all your pics.

Update: If you want to get in on one more difficulty (with prizes), we just discovered that Rebecca over at BetterLifeBags does one every month. So be sure to inspect that out too!
